Kiosk-Mode Help:
 Create a Kiosk Shortcut

Use these instructions to place a shortcut on the Desktop of the Kiosk computer for your Survey.

If you have already set the Kiosk Options and have the URL for the Survey, proceed to Create a Windows Shortcut below, or watch this short video.

If you haven't done so already, visit Kiosk Options for your Project to retrieve the URL for your Kiosk-Mode Survey:

  • Click here to Open WebResponse
  • Log-in if required, and then click the name of your Kiosk-Mode Project from the list of Projects.
  • Set Up Survey
  • If your Project doesn't open to Set Up Survey, click Set up Survey on the right.
  • Beneath the Set Up Survey choices, click Kiosk Options.
  • On the screen that appears, locate Link to kiosk towards the bottom of the screen.
  • Link to kiosk
  • Copy the entire link for use below.

Create a Windows Shortcut:

  • Go to the computer that Kiosk-Respondents will use to complete the Survey.
  • Right-click anywhere in the blank-space of the Windows Desktop of the Kiosk-Computer
  • From the menu that appears, choose New > and Shortcut
  • New > Shortcut

  • In the window that opens, type the Link to kiosk that you located in WebResponse - Kiosk Options and click Next.
  • What item would you like to create a shortcut for?

  • On the next screen, type the text you would like to appear under the shortcut.
    Something like: "Click here to enter the Survey", or other specific instructions
  • What would you like to name the shortcut?
  • Click Finish.
  • Your shortcut will be created on the desktop, and look similar to this:
  • Your new shortcut icon
    (The icon may look different depending on your default browser. This is normal.)

Your Respondents can now access the Survey by clicking the shortcut.
