Explanation of Report Sections—Project Report Sections

Category Summary – Project vs. Aggregate

This report section displays the project average for all subjects of ONE project and compares them to the average scores of ALL projects included in this report.

NOTE:  The term “project average,” means the combined scores for all subjects in a project. Self-ratings are not included in these averages.

The category names appear on the left side of the report. Results are displayed both as a gap graph and in numerical form, listed from most negative difference to most positive difference.

Column 1: Displays the project average for the primary scale.

Column 2: Displays the average primary scale scores for all subjects in all projects.

Column 3:  Reports the difference between these two sets of scores.

The difference between the two averages is shown by a gap graph. A long arrow pointing to the right suggests a priority for improvement because it indicates that performance is lower than subjects in all other projects. A long arrow pointing to the left suggests strength because performance is at a higher level than subjects in all other projects.

Category Summary – Current vs. Previous

NOTE: This report section can be printed only if more than one assessment project has been completed with a group of subjects.

This report section displays the average category scores for a recent (current) and an earlier (previous) project to see if performance has improved in previously low-rated categories.

NOTE:  The term “project average” used below means the combined scores for all subjects in a project. Self-ratings are not included in these averages.

The category names appear on the left side of the report. Results are displayed as a gap graph and in numerical form listed from most negative score to most positive score.

Column 1: Displays the project average of each category for the current project.

Column 2: Displays the project average of each category for the previous project.

Column 3: Reports the difference between these two sets of scores.

A negative score means that the project average for that category has dropped, which shows a lack of improvement. A positive score means that the project average has gone up since the earlier assessment, indicating that subjects have made improvement in this area.

The difference between the two averages is shown by a gap graph.  A long arrow pointing to the right indicates a significant drop in performance, while a long arrow pointing to the left suggests a significant improvement in performance since the previous assessment.

This report section can serve as needs assessment data for additional training and development programs.  Areas of strength and priority areas for improvement can be identified for a group of subjects, with developmental resources targeted to the areas with the greatest negative gap.

Item Ratings – Current vs. Previous

NOTE: This report section can be printed only if more than one assessment project has been done with a group of subjects.

This report section displays the average item scores for a recent (current) and an earlier (previous) project, to see if performance has improved in previously low-rated items.

NOTE:  The term “project average,” means the combined scores for all subjects in a project (minus Self-ratings).

NOTE:  A red X on the report icon will appear if the project does not have the data required in order to print.

NOTE:  The term “score,” means the combined ratings given by all respondents, minus the Self-ratings.  Self-ratings are NEVER included in any overall average.

The items appear on the left side of the page. Results are displayed as a gap graph and in numerical form, listed from most negative difference to most positive difference.

Column 1: Displays the project average of each item for the current project.

Column 2: Displays the project average of each item for the previous project.

Column 3: Reports the difference between these two sets of scores.

A negative score for an item means that the project average for that item has dropped, which shows a lack of improvement. A positive score means that the project average has gone up since the earlier assessment, indicating that subjects have made improvement in this item.

The difference between the two averages is shown by a gap graph.  A long arrow pointing to the right indicates a significant drop in performance for a given item, while a long arrow pointing to the left suggests a significant improvement in performance since the previous assessment.

This report section can serve, as needs assessment data for additional training and development programs.  Areas of strength and priority areas for improvement can be identified for a group of subjects, with developmental resources targeted to the areas with the greatest negative gap.
