Scales—Add a New Scale

In this example, you will create a new scale entitled Effectiveness.

1. Click the + (Add) icon or click, Click here to create a NEW scale.

2. The New Scale screen appears.

3. At the Scale name box, type Effectiveness.

4. At the Abbreviation box, type Effect.

5. At the Question stem box, type How effective is * in the performance of this action?

6. At the Number of Descriptors box, type 5.

7. In the descriptors boxes, type

Not Effective, Somewhat Effective, Effective, Very Effective,
Totally Effective

Note: Scale descriptors can be up to 24 characters long. If you need them to be longer than 24 characters please call PSS technical support.

8. Click Save or press Enter. The scale name will appear at the bottom of the list. The scale information appears on the bottom of the screen.
